The darkest day.

Screams, yells, cries torture and pain
In the heartfelt areas of Darfur
Homes burned down
Men killed, women raped
Children live with the disparity and pain
For there is no tomorrow for them
If they make it they’ll see a brighter day
This would be another life on earth

Innocent children you see
13,14 and 15 year old becoming the breadwinners of their family that is left
Because there innocence has been taken away
By a regime with no mercy
They sing we are the children of the world
But where is that at?
Definitely not the old country that I knew
We asked them if they could give us a chance
To be happy and normal
But instead they took that away for us
We solemnly speak out to the world to come
And take us away from these misery.

this poem is beautiful and strong
it's has the feel of if i was there.
the strongest line in the poem
isMen killed, women raped
Children live with the disparity and pain
For there is no tomorrow for them
If they make it they’ll see a brighter day
This would be another life on earth.
